Making personalized products is child’s play now

A new member of the extended family was born, so my daughter decided that we needed to make a personalized baby bodysuit. With her sitting on my lap we went on to the Zazzle website to create what she had in mind. We saw that baby bodysuits could indeed be made so the quest was on! We went on to another site that offers royalty-free images and settled on a cute bear picture.

We uploaded this onto my Zazzle account from where we could then proceed with the design. We simply added the image to the middle of the bodysuit mockup image. Then we chose where we wanted to position the text, selected the font and color, then typed in the name. We checked how it all looked and finally submitted it for sale.

This process is slightly different for someone who has a creator account like I do. However, it is possible as a visitor to the site to find a design you like then to customize it – but only if the creator has made the design a customizable one. On Zazzle the majority of designs can be customized, unlike other sites offering similar products.

We ordered the baby bodysuit and a week later it arrived. The finished product was flawless and we were pleased with how it all turned out. Yes it is more expensive than an anonymous store-bought, mass-produced equivalent, but it is a landmark event. It is worthy of a little extra effort and money because the personalization aspect will allow this to be a keepsake for the family.

I’ve made our original design a customizable one, whereby you can change the name. You can see it here:
